The Miracle 8 Legacy: The Mystery Cubs

No one knows exactly what happened to the first two cubs’ mother. They were found alone in the wild, vulnerable and possibly running out of time. One, a little female, had a severely damaged eye. Removing it was the only way to save her life.

Now three more cubs have arrived from Dinokeng Game Reserve after their mother was killed by a lion. All five have been given something priceless: a second chance.

But they can’t complete this journey alone.

A Legacy Continues

When eight cheetah cubs that were orphaned in the wild entered our care in 2021, something remarkable happened. Thousands of people came together to become part of their story.

Together we watched them heal, grow, and find their strength. Eventually, we celebrated as the Miracle 8 took their place in protected wild homes throughout South Africa. They were successfully rewilded and even contributed to the birth of two new cubs. That wasn’t just their story. It became our story.

Today, a new chapter is unfolding. The Miracle 8 Legacy lives on through six orphaned wild cheetah cubs now in our care. The first two arrived under circumstances we may never fully understand; the four from Dinokeng lost their mother to a lion. With the right care and time to develop their wild instincts, we hope each will have the chance to return to the wild.
